Academic Positions: Gao Can serves as a professor at the Central Conservatory in Peking and is the director of the Violin Association of the Chinese Musicians' Association. He also taught at the College of Music of the University of Cincinnati from 2007 to 2012.
Awards and Honors: Among the many awards received by Gao Can, notable ones include: a gold medal at the 8th National Violin Competition in China, a silver medal at an international violin competition in New Zealand, and a special award (an Italian violin) at the International Violin Competition in Naples, Italy.
Performances and Collaborations: Gao Can has performed in world-renowned concert halls such as the Berlin Konzerthaus and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. He has collaborated with numerous well-known orchestras including the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and the Rostock Philharmonic Orchestra. He became the first Chinese violinist to give a solo concert at the Cologne Cathedral, where he performed Bach's Second Solo Suite in collaboration with the Poly Chamber Orchestra.
Festival Participation: Gao Can has participated in several international music festivals, including the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, Germany, the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Salzburg Festival in Austria, the Bologna Festival in Italy, and the Tongyeong Music Festival in South Korea.
Additional Activities: He is the official ambassador of the Verbier Music Festival and is a co-founder and music director at the renowned Chinese music and cultural education institution, Poly Wedo. He has also released several albums published by the Chinese Audio and Video Association.
