​2025 Theme: Mozart 

All finalists will have the opportunity to perform a Mozart Violin Concerto with an orchestra.
Winners will receive:
✔ The chance to perform with an orchestra at the final rund
✔ An invitation to perform at the winners’ concert in a renowned Swiss concert hall

These prestigious performance opportunities will enhance participants’ artistic expression and provide an important stepping stone in their musical careers.​​​​​​

​Age Categories

The competition is divided into five categories, based on the participant’s age as of January 1, 2025:

  • Group A – Young Children (under 8 years old)

  • Group B – Junior (8-10 years old)

  • Group C – Intermediate (11-13 years old)

  • Group D – Advanced Youth (14-17 years old)

  • Group E – Senior (18 years and above, no age limit)

Competition Format

✔ The competition consists of a Preliminary Round and a Final Round.
✔ Preliminary Round: Performed live with piano accompaniment at Andermatt Concert Hall.
✔ Final Round: Mozart Theme – All finalists will perform a Mozart Violin Concerto with an orchestra at Vitznau Kammermusiksaal.

✔ Final Round Qualification: Violin Categories (Groups B, C, D, and E):
A maximum of three top-scoring participants from each group will be selected to advance to the final round.The jury will determine the number of finalists based on actual performance scores. If no participant meets the required standard, finalist positions may remain unfilled.

 

​Categories & Repertoire Requirements

Preliminary Round: Participants must prepare two contrasting pieces, one of which must be from the Baroque, Classical, or Romantic period.

  • Group A (under 8 years old)

    • Free choice of 1-2 pieces, total duration max. 6 minutes.

  • Group B (8-10 years old)

    • Two contrasting pieces of choice, total duration max. 10 minutes.

    • To qualify for the final round and orchestra collaboration, participants must perform the 1st movement of a Mozart Violin Concerto (No.1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).

  • Group C (11-13 years old)

    • One piece of choice, total duration max. 12minutes.

    • Required piece: 1st movement of Mozart Violin Concerto (No.1, 2,3, 4, or 5).

  • Group D (14-17 years old)

    • One piece of choice, total duration max. 15 minutes.

    • Required piece: 1st movement of Mozart Violin Concerto (No.1, 2,3, 4, or 5).

  • Group E (18+ years old)

    • One piece of choice, total duration max. 18 minutes.

    • Required piece: 1st movement of Mozart Violin Concerto (No.1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).

🎻 Final Round: All finalists will perform the 1st movement of a Mozart Violin Concerto  (No.1, 2,3, 4, or 5) with an orchestra.

Additional Rules

✔ The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.
✔ Participants agree that all performances may be recorded, photographed, and used for promotional purposes.
